We need to be strong – Work on prevention against child abuse

A joint project by the HAPPY KIDS Association and the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation

Project description
Preventing violence is one of the foremost aims of the HAPPY KIDS Association located in Vienna. Strengthening self confidence and finding personal resources form the basis for the successful prevention of violence. The “Happy Kids, Strong Kids” courses, workshops and lectures offered by the Association are designed to unite the children and to raise awareness. They were specially developed to prevent and combat physical attacks. The Association, together with the Lyoness Child and Family Foundation, are endeavour ing to teach violence prevention to children and adults by teaching 8 more trainers to give these workshops at nursery schools (kindergarten), primary schools and youth centres.

Various intensive workshops enable the trainees to exchange their own experiences and reflections with trained co-trainers. The costs are made up of training units, accommodation and meals, aswell as teaching material (training period: August 2009 to January 2010).

Project location
Austria

Project period

Kindergarten and primary school children; young people and other important persons from their social system (family system, environment at school, e.g. teachers at school and kindergarten).
