Lyoness Open 2010
20/04/2010
The huge success of the Lyoness Open in 2008 and 2009, in aid of the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation, as inspired Lyoness Holding Europe AG to hold this unique event again this year, at Gut Freiberg in Gleisdorf. 100% of the proceeds go towards the Foundation’s national and international projects, in accordance with the philosophy “preserving life through education”.
Under the philosophy „A good game – for a good cause“, Lyoness creates a unique connection between the international sport of golf and thoughts of charity. This is why there is a special bonus, in aid of the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation, integrated into the tournament itinerary. As soon as a player reaches a Birdie, 50 Euros is automatically donated to the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation. Additionally, there is also 100 Euros financial support for the Foundation when a player has reached an Eagle, and 150 Euros if a player achieves an Albatross.
This year, the first person to achieve a hole-In-One, will win a Harley Davidson “Fat Boy” from the only Styrian authorised Harley Davidson dealer “Clocktower” in Graz.
The “ALPS TOUR”, which is one of the four Sattelite Tours (third level), was founded in 2001 by golf associations in Italy, France, Switzerland and Austria, to give young golf professionals and top amateurs a chance to participate in high quality professional tournaments, to gain experience and eventually to be able to succeed at the Challenge and the European Tour. With a prize fund of 660.000 Euros, this years Lyoness Open is the highest sponsored tournament in Europe within the ALPS TOUR 2010.
